Finding Light Photography is the work of Johannesburg family photographer Camilla, a mom and storyteller with a love for natural photographs, beautiful light and real connection.

From first birthday parties and baptisms to baby showers, anniversaries and big family celebrations, these are the days that seem to fly by far too quickly.

I photograph family events across Johannesburg and Gauteng with a relaxed, candid approach. I’m there for the big moments, of course, but also for the ones you might miss while you’re busy hosting. The little hands reaching for cake, grandparents watching from the side, hugs between old friends and all the beautiful chaos happening in between.

My aim is to give you a collection of photographs that feels like your celebration, not just a record of what it looked like.

I’m the photographer behind Finding Light Photography, a mom of two, a wife, and someone who has been doing this for 16 years and still genuinely loves it.
I’ve worked across different parts of the photography world over the years, but family photography is where I feel most at home. I love the real stuff. The laughs, the chaos, the little looks between people, the moments that happen when nobody is trying too hard.
I photograph families, matric dances, maternity, newborns and celebrations across Johannesburg and Gauteng, and my approach is simple. I’ll guide you when you need it, give you space when you don’t, and make the whole thing feel as easy and comfortable as possible.
Come as you are. Kids can be kids, nobody needs to know how to pose, and nothing needs to be perfect. That’s usually where the best photographs happen.
